A LIFE OF SERVICE. A LIFE OF LOVE.
A LIFE TO BE REMEMBERED.
Known as Bridget’s husband to many of us, Mercier Willard, brought joy to many. He passed from this life quietly on May 31, 2016, leaving those who knew and knew of him feeling the loss of a caring soul.
Married 23 years, Bridget and Mercier enjoyed exploring the Southern California coast and walked a life of faith together. Mercier served as Pastor at Pardoned Prodigals, offering hope to all though together they attended Calvary Chapel Seaside in Laguna Beach.
BRIDGET + MERCIER
Bridget and Mercier had challenges in their life but always managed to come together. There was a 36 year difference in their ages and yet, according to Bridget, “You don't pick who you fall in love with, you just fall in love.” And in love they were.
As a couple, they worked hard together to create a life that involved lots of family time and plenty of walks for their two dogs, Sully and Chloe. Bridget and Mercier had a rule no important discussions could occur after 10 p.m. Together they embraced the quote by George Bernard Shaw, “The problem with communication… is the illusion that it has been accomplished,” and sought to understand and support each other through being open and honest with one another.
HOW HE LOVED HER
Mercier was active in social media, not of his own accord, but because Bridget made it so. He was proud of his wife and loved to watch her create a stir. Due to Mercier’s encouragement, Bridget found a voice online through Twitter and WordPress and discovered a community where she could make a difference.
